Whoooohooooo DTWV made it to 4 years on June 26th 2020!

I had to take a moment out to celebrate this moment amidst the chaos in the world right now with Covid-19, the Black Lives Matter movement sparked by police brutality and fatalities becoming too much, an enormous amount of Sahara dust crossing the Atlantic, the devastation in Yemen and … I’m leaving the woos at that. We can all do with a mental oasis right now, so I choose to celebrate.

Firstly, let me say that my heart is full and I am humbled by and grateful for this journey. It seems like yesterday, but knowing that so much has happened in the meantime reminds me that it couldn’t be yesterday, hahaha….

It’s been been quite a ride: From DTWV being launch as a weekly 2-hour radio show in June of 2016, to pivoting to a 1-hour Facebook LIVE talk show, to recording the shows and uploading them on YouTube and even creating a DTWV Quicky series of the show. The Quicky episodes are a more dense format of the show; discussing many topics or documenting my on-the-go sagas.

This has been a journey that has allowed me to build a platform from which I get to make way for my purpose. I get to serve, inspire, motivate, spark thought and work towards elevating my community as I do the work myself

Secondly, I celebrate my gratitude flows over in knowing that I wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for a faithful few who have always been my rock throughout these years. Reminding me that this is bigger than me. Reminding me that quitting is not what I do: #TeamGotThis. Reminding me why I started when the load of life felt like it was sometimes more than I could bare. They have been to me who I am for those I coach and mentor. Every mentor needs a mentor too. As humans we are built to be stronger together.

Yes, I am an optimist by nature, so it tends to seem like everything is fine when everything seems to be falling apart around me. It is my faith that grounds me and has kept me from loosing my mind: I always have a deep sense of knowing that things don’t just happen to me, but that they are happening for me. So while a lot has fallen apart (e.g. moving on from a 10-year relationship and then loosing 10+ people around me who passed away in the space of 20 months), a lot of amazing things have happened and a lot has come together in ways that I can only answer with “but God…” :).

Cheers to more growth.
Cheers to expansion in the amount of lives I get to positively impact.
Cheers to the products that are & will be the catalyst that people need to become a better version of themselves.

I pray that the joy and peace that passes all understanding always are the cornerstones in my life…

This is the reason why I can sing and dance
This is the reason I cry happy tears!
